This blog is written by UK-based careers advisor and self-proclaimed “theory nut” Tom Staunton. It explores how career theory relates to practice. The name speaks to travelling without knowing where you’re going, or having a destination in mind but not knowing how to get there – apt metaphors for career exploration.

The Potentiality focuses on the six key competencies that research shows are the pillars of personal and professional success: communication, collaboration, learning and thinking, creativity and innovation, adaptability and leadership. The Editor-in-Chief of the blog is John Horn, who is also currently the Chair of CERIC’s Board of Directors.

Career Engagement is a blog produced by Life Strategies, a B.C.-based organization that works with clients and students worldwide, offering customized seminars, workshops, courses and keynotes. Katharine Brooks, Ed.D., helps turn “chaos into careers” in this blog from Psychology Today. Brooks is the Evans Family Executive Director of the Career Center at Vanderbilt University. She blogs on career strategies, workplace issues, career change and more.

Straby.com

Rob Straby draws on his experience as a professor in Conestoga College’s Career Development Practitioner Program and as an online coach to write his blog. Recent topics include “Parents, Kids and Careers,” “Career Flow” and “Understanding Motivation and Your Life Roles.”
